Kittie Knox Rides On!

Our team has been hard at work creating a new book, edited by Talya Kingston, that features the scripts of The Kittie Knox Plays, as well as historical background, production photos, essays from the 2025 production team, discussion questions, and more. We hope that bike clubs, theatre groups, and schools across the country will partner together to bring these plays and the story of Kittie Knox to life in their communities.

The Kittie Knox Plays Book is on sale now at our new online bookstore!

(The books will arrive from the printer this week, so orders will start to go out following week.)

To help promote this project, actress Hampton Richards, who played Kittie Knox in our 2025 production, and producing artistic director, Patrick Gabridge, traveled to the National Bike Summit in Washington, DC, last month, where they met with leaders of cycling organizations from across the country. They even joined the League of American Bicyclists and MassBike to lobby for bike safety and infrastructure on Capitol Hill.

Plays in Place and MassBike were also awarded the 2026 Kittie Knox Award from the League, for our work on The Kittie Knox Plays. This annual award “recognizes champions of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the bicycling movement.”

Be sure to check out this fun mini-documentary that Sami Ahmad created about the making of The Kittie Knox Plays. If you saw these shows in September, it’ll bring back fond memories. If you didn’t, you’ll get a sense of what you missed.
