Our production of A Revelation of Character just finished its initial three-day run at the Boston Public Library, playing to enthusiastic audiences at every show. This new play, written by Patrick Gabridge and directed by Lisa Rafferty, explores a friendship forged and fractured by the fires of abolition. Created for the Associates of the Boston Public Library’s Pierce Performance Series, this play dives into the lively letters and writings by and between Lydia Maria Child and Maria Weston Chapman.
Our stellar cast features Jennifer Drummond as Maria Weston Chapman, Emma Friend as Debora Weston, and Amie Lytle as Lydia Maria Child, with Eliza Fichter understudying all three roles.
In case you missed last week’s shows, the Associates have arranged to have a video of the first performance available online, that you can watch for free, through November 30th. Check it out while you can!
We hope to see you at some of our new shows coming in 2026 to Newport, Deerfield, Northampton, and East Granby, CT. Also, stay tuned next week, when we’ll share a short documentary video about the making of The Kittie Knox Plays. If you want to support our work, please consider donating to help fund the publication of The Kittie Knox Plays Book that we plan to publish in the spring of 2026.
